Soul Intentions has been hearing from many community members lately that are focused on “letting go”. We find questions ranging from:
- How do I let things go?
- How do I decide what to let go?
- How do I know if I have let it go?
The challenge many of us are finding is that in this attempt to let go we are placing our focus on that which we are attempting to release. Many of us have heard the saying – energy goes where attention flow – which lands us in a space of receiving more of what we have decided to let go of in the first place. A sense of not being able to get the things out of your head ensues which can be quite frustrating.
The best approach we have found is being aware of all the perceived good & bad things in your life. Then consciously chose to direct your attention, your actions and your energy into those things that make you feel alive and joyful. Find activities that make your day feel full and awe-some. Surround yourself with people that bring a smile to your face.
Take time for yourself to heal & deal with your inner hurts so you can move into a place of openness. If you are dwelling in the hurt for too long or can’t seem to progress through it, reach out for support from a trusted friend, family, life coach or community. Moving through the hurt puts you one step closer to joy which is the path of letting go.
There is no magic trick to make something shift in your life. It is up to you to make your choices. If you keep getting more of the same then take step back and look at why. Are you making the same type of choices, investing time in the same people or activities? What is the common denominator in your choice that brings you here? If the end result is the same with different choices, people and activities then what within you needs to shift in order to progress from here? Or are you operating from a place of joy and simply need to make a different choice in people, thought or activity?
Whatever the case may be in your situation, know that you are not alone and you can let go. Grab on to the positive, passionate places in your life and have fun!
